So I’ve been hooked by this service (DailyLit) since yesterday. It’s simple, you can register or not and subscribe to books in their collection daily via email or RSS.
My first book is The Art Of War (Sun Tzu) (even though I do have a copy of the e-book from Gutenberg, I can’t find any free time to finish it).
And the first part arrived this morning. I set it so that each part/chapter will arrive around 8 am daily, since this is when I read my emails, news and stuffs before really start working around 9 am. The next thing to do is to read them one part/chapter per day (if can).
If you’re into books and spends most of your time in front of the PC, give it a try :)
p/s: This is not a paid preview :) - don’t even have any ads here on my tumblog :P

Oscar the Cat Predicts Patients’ Deaths
Oscar the cat seems to have an uncanny knack for predicting when nursing home patients are going to die, by curling up next to them during their final hours. His accuracy, observed in 25 cases, has led the staff to call family members once he has chosen someone. It usually means they have less than four hours to live.
p/s: You know it’s your time, when Oscar comes next to you :P
After going through this good tutorial on Yahoo! Pipes, I manage to build my very on first pipe. And it involves Giuk.net.

“Tapping a South Korean inclination to help one another on the Web has made Naver.com the undisputed leader of Internet search in the country. It handles more than 77 percent of all Web searches originating in South Korea, thanks largely to content generated, free of charge, by people like Park and Cho.”
Seriously.
“A 75 year old woman from Karlstad in central Sweden has been thrust into the IT history books - with the world’s fastest internet connection.
Now compare that to our Streamyx!

Today I took a look at one of my Rails project’s codes and found that I’m doing multiple same sql queries over a few of my controllers. The log file shows messy calls to the database.
Thanks to the Query Trace plugin managed to track down to each line of code where those sql queries are called.
