Me.deactivate(facebook)
So I deactivated my Facebook account. I’ll be on twitter though. Reasons? Just checkout this site. I love Facebook for the nostalgia platform that it provided (friends from 10 years ago, friends from 20 years ago), but personal data is personal data. I’m not an avid fan of what Facebook is currently doing. Oh well, time to say goodbye and move on. Why deactivate and not delete it? I...

Minimal: On google android →
My wife is on Verison and yesterday she was due for an upgrade. She wanted a smartphone so she picked an HTC with android in it. Short review: it’s a nice OS but it’s not there yet. You can see why Apple is obsessive about the small details, it makes a difference. Android feels… Well… Unfinished….  Nice one..

In a comment on one of my previous posts, I was stunned to find someone asserting a “social contract” and then claiming it was “just as legitimate as a private contract”. The first problem is that legitimacy is in relation to a standard, and what the standard of legitimacy is is a matter of…  Somehow, this made me think about Malaysia

Workouts and being healthy
I’ve decided 2010 to be the year for me to start getting a better shape and better health. As a geek not only must it be systematic, I would love to have my sessions recorded. Found a few programs that’s suitable for me. My target is just to lower my weight, get better stamina and core strength while reducing risks of diabetes, heart problems, high blood pressure etc. Here are some...

Harry Porter - made in China
Just finished reading - 11 Amazing Fake ‘Harry Potter’ Books Written In China. How amazing even Harry Porter has its own fake version in China. The authors sometimes just replace original characters from other books with Harry Porter’s characters and give it a new title. There’s really a market for this. A few interesting Harry Porter fakes. Harry Potter and the Leopard...

Upgrades, downgrades and headaches
I’ve been using Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty on my Dell Studio notebook and Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy (LTS) on my old desktop for quite some time. Both are functioning well, suitable for my daily tasks, work and entertainment. I was reluctant to upgrade to Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic since everything was smooth in Jaunty. Since I got a new desktop, with new hardware, I’ve been wanting to go bleeding edge, so I...
