Installing Sun Java JDK in CentOS 5.2 →
Credits to the blogpost above. This is just a rewrite
- CentOS 5.27
- I have java that bundles with CentOS 5.2. Running java -version returns “gcj”
- STEPS
Download the Sun Java JDK from the Java SE Downloads page. (I use jdk-6u12-linux-i586-rpm.bin)
Run jdk-6u12-linux-i586-rpm.bin (using sudo/root)
Run : /usr/sbin/alternatives —install /usr/bin/java java...
